Apparently the first Midweek crit of the year was a great one until the bell lap where a multitude of racers crashed in turn 1 as the jockeyed for their final positions. One cyclist was taken to hospital with a suspected broken collarbone. Is he ok? Anyone car to add info as to the condition of those who went down?

To go faster, you must first realise you are slow.

Mike - it was Killian Cummings from eRace Cancer.
His race report sounds like he's a little banged up but okay and you could have a new bike prospect!

So no broken clavicle. Good to hear. A speedy recovery.
Equipment is easier to replace than a broken body.

Didn't see it happen, but apparently a rider went into corner 1 way too fast, hit rear brakes hard, sliding out rear wheel into rider next to him causing crash but naturally didn't go down themselves. Sounds like a first race move more than a late race move. I suppose this is the risk with the first couple races until they split the fields, you have seasoned racers mixed with first timers. When they run two races they insist that all first timers have to ride first race (I can remember last year Craig made Anton V and Yuri H ride first race, those are the rules) but why that rule doesn't apply when there's only one race I'm not sure. All that said, it could have actually been an experienced rider being stupid that caused the crash, it's not always the newbies. Overall a great race and glad that all riders are ok, just feel bad for the carbon....
